Waratah Earrings. Made in Australia from our original hand painted design, these earrings are printed with eco-friendly inks onto light weight, sustainably grown hoop pine and paired with stainless steel posts, perfect for sensitive ears!

Telopea speciosissima, the Waratah is known for its large, vibrant crimson flower heads which can measure up to 15cm across. It's not just a single flower but is actually made up of many flowers joined into a head. It is the floral emblem of New South Wales and grows in the forest understory on sandstone ridges.

The name ‘Waratah’ comes from the Eora Aboriginal word 'warada' meaning 'beautiful' or 'seen from afar'. Waratahs grow from a modified stem called a 'lignotuber,' which allows the plant to produce masses of shoots after bush fires.
